Chicago’s Festa Italiana 2012

In Chicago this weekend and looking for something to do? Bring the family down to “the old neighborhood”, Taylor Street, for Festa Italiana!

Taylor Street is the heart of Chicago’s Little Italy, which is where I was born and raised. Each year, the festa brings everyone together in “the old neighborhood”: folks who have moved out of the area, those who still live there, and visitors who want to enjoy a true Italian-American neighborhood experience.

Stop by to sample Italian and Italian-American delicacies…

…to enjoy live music performances…

You might even catch my brother and his friends in a heated game of morra

…or a dance troupe performing traditional Italian dances.

Festa Italiana 2012 will be held on Taylor Street, between Ashland and Racine (map). While you’re there, be sure to stop by some of my favorite neighborhood spots: Three Aces, Vintage Lounge, and Pompei Little Italy.

Sounds great fun! Traditional food, live music, dancing and I’m sure the occassional glass of a delicious Italian wine – what more could you ask for!

Absolutely, Kathryn! And for me, throw in all the people I grew up with or have known most of my life that I don’t get to see very often, and it’s the recipe for a perfectly fun weekend.
