I bring you this post as a member of the Holiday Inn Influencer Program. I received a two-night complimentary stay at Holiday Inn Indianapolis Airport. As always, all opinions are my own.
You know how there are those places you hear about all the time that sound really awesome and you think, “I should go there. Yeah, one day…” And then that one day turns into months which turn into years? One of those places for me was the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. So many people I know, from personal friends to fellow travel bloggers, had been there with their families and just raved about it. After driving through Indianapolis several times in the last few months on road trips to other destinations, my husband and I agreed that we needed to take the kids to Indy and actually stay there so we could visit the Children’s Museum. We found ourselves with a free weekend in between major holidays so we went for it.
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis definitely lived up to the hype. Four levels of interactive, educational, and fun exhibits kept us going for several hours. The kids were completely wiped out by the time we made it back to the parking lot (bonus: free museum parking). Luckily, we had a warm and cozy hotel room to return to for a late afternoon nap. We ended up being as equally delighted with our choice of hotel as we were with the Children’s Museum. Since it was a family trip, we decided to stay with a hotel brand that has a long history of making traveling families happy and comfortable: Holiday Inn.
We stayed at the brand new Holiday Inn Indianapolis Airport, which is conveniently located right off of I-70. We were greeted by warm smiles upon arrival in the contemporary and inviting lobby. The kids were drawn to the Christmas tree, while I was envisioning relaxing in one of the stylish chairs next to the fireplace. Other guests had gathered in the seating area, watching sports on the television and enjoying beverages from the on-site restaurant and bar, Burger Theory.
Our room consisted of two queen beds, perfect for my husband and me and our two young children, and all the features a traveling family might need: a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The room decor was stylish without being pretentious, and it made me feel that there wasn’t anything my kids could “ruin”. The spacious bathroom with full tub made the kids’ bath time fun and easy – just like at home.
For as modern as the hotel is, it stays true to the tradition that Kemmons Wilson established when he opened the first Holiday Inn hotel in 1952. Wilson believed that the family vacation should be comfortable, affordable, and fun for everyone. At the Holiday Inn Indianapolis Airport…
- Kids still stay and eat for free.
- Take a dip in the indoor swimming pool.
- Stick to your workout routine at the 24-hour fitness center.
- Stay connected with complimentary WiFi.
- Relax next to the fire pit on the outdoor patio.
- If flying into/out of Indianapolis International Airport, take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary, 24-hour airport shuttle service.
- You’re a short drive away from Indy’s wonderful attractions, including the Children’s Museum.
It’s comforting that the Holiday Inn brand has upheld its values all these years. My family and I are grateful to have experienced the joy of travel at Holiday Inn Indianapolis Airport, and we’re so glad we didn’t wait any longer to visit the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis!
A big thank you goes out to Visit Indy for tickets to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Again, all words and opinions are my own.
