Meet our newest little traveler!

"Hello, world!"

“Hello, world!”

We welcomed our new little traveler to the family on Tuesday, July 16th. Anthony Charles was born at 10:33am, weighing 9 pounds, 3 ounces, and measuring 20.5 inches. At that size, you can imagine that Baby Anthony is a good eater and a great sleeper. I couldn’t ask for anything more!

Delivery went well – as well as a cesarean section can go, I suppose. But we came out okay and now recovery is going swimmingly! Honestly, I feel great; just tired and a little sore but nothing I can’t handle. It’s allowed me the energy to provide this little update and to give you a preview of what’s to come here at The Working Mom’s Travels.

I’m lucky to be able to be off work for the next few months. I’m going to take full advantage of this time off and dedicate it to my growing family. I will write/blog/post as much as I can and I’ve also got guest posts lined up from some of my best blogger buddies that I am so excited to share! Of course, my family and I have some trips planned before I head back to work, so the guest posts should hold us over until we start traveling again.

Thank you all for the continued words of support and encouragement! I hope you enjoy my friends’ guest posts as much as I do. This little family can’t wait to get back on the road!

Happy travels, friends!

I assume “Stanley” and “Biscuit” are two of the as yet unpublished parts of his name. CONGRATS.

Thanks, D. Biscuit is cute and I think I’ll use it, but I’m avoiding Stanley simply because I don’t want my kid to forever be known as “Stosh”. So, Biscuit. There.

Holy cuteness! Look at that face! I think at this point, he may also be the most adorable little traveler ever. Congrats to the family, esp. the big sister…best “job” ever! xx

You are too sweet, Erin! Thank you. As a big sister myself, I have to agree that it is a pretty awesome “job”. Lucia, so far, has taken on the role quite nicely 🙂

Congrats! We just have a 6-year-old son so it’s hard for me to remember what your family is going through right now. I seem to recall that getting rest when you can is the most important thing to say. It’s been awhile since we had a newborn but I do remember the importance of rest! I look forward to connecting with you and following your travels.

Hi Lance! Thanks for stopping by & for the kind words. You’re right, getting rest is most important with a newborn. It’s kind of all new to me, as well, since my daughter is 4. As you say, I look forward to connecting and following your travels, too!

Thanks so much, Amanda! Maybe I’m now immune to big babies because Anthony still doesn’t seem so big to me. He can eat, though! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Congratulations!! He is so awake!! My baby girl was 8.5 lbs and I was kind of relieved that I had a c section. I stayed home 10 weeks after my baby was born. We also tried to take a road trip and she absolutely hated the car seat. We haven’t been too far yet bc we don’t know if she can handle it. Maybe she will be better with flying!

Thank you, Cata! Sorry to hear the road trip with Emma didn’t work out so well. She might be better with flying but you won’t know until you try it! 🙂
