Planning a family vacation is a tough job as the needs of adults and children should be taken into consideration so that all family members can have fun. That being said, we’d like to help you to organize your family holidays in the South Caucasus – the hospitable region known for its amazing people and culture. Below you’ll get lots of useful information for your Georgia Armenia Azerbaijan trip.
Family holidays in Armenia
Armenia is a wonderful country for the whole family. The country is considered one of the safest with a low crime rate. All resort towns of Armenia are suitable for a family vacation. Armenia is all about beautiful nature, walks with the whole family in the fresh air, delicious food and pleasant meetings with the locals. Children may need a bit more excitement, though, so it’s a good idea to have a plan B for them.
In the capital, there are interesting entertainment centers where kids will have so much fun. The largest entertainment centers are Play City and Cityzen. In Play City, you can find all kinds of attractions, carousels for the little ones, go-karting, paintball and much more. Cityzen is another interesting place that is located on the territory of the Play City. This is a small town for children, where our little residents are welcome to try different professions. They can become bankers, doctors, chefs, and even presidents. Parents can watch the whole game.
If you watched the Jurassic Park movies and you liked them, you and your children will definitely enjoy Dinoland Dinosaur Park. Of course, dinosaurs are not alive here, but they can move, make sounds and even carry eggs. Everything is done quite realistically. Children can touch and ride on dinosaurs. This is a great place to explore extinct animals.
For those who love to shop, Armenia – especially Yerevan – is a great place for an unforgettable vacation focused on shopping. In the capital, there are many beautiful and cozy cafes, large shopping centers and expensive boutiques. In short, the hard-core shoppers will not be bored!
Family holidays in Georgia
After those unforgettable days spent in Armenia, it’s time to go to Georgia. For an active family holiday, the mountains in Georgia are just perfect. Winter holidays are best spent in one of the ski resorts, among which Gudauri would be the best choice for family vacations. The infrastructure of the ski resort offers everything you need for both adults and kids. On the slopes, there are separate ski lifts for children, a special strip on the slope, a children’s park for tubing and a playground with slides.
In Tbilisi, you can find all sorts of children’s entertainment centers and children’s cafes. For unforgettable impressions, it’s worth visiting Rezo Gabriadze puppet theater with the whole family. The theater building looks like a picture from a fairy tale and immediately attracts attention. One of the most interesting parts is the small performance “The Cycle of Life” on the tower of the theater.
Another great idea for children is a short tour about Experimentorium Entertaining Science Museum. It is not an ordinary museum – here you can not only touch the exhibits, but you are also welcome to take part in the experiments. Younger guests can participate in chemical experiments, become an astronaut, ride a spaceship and so many more interesting activities.
The Black Sea resort town of Batumi is the best destination for summer family holidays. Here at every step you will find attractions, cafes, and restaurants. In a word, in Batumi you will find everything that is needed for summer vacations.
Family holidays in Azerbaijan
Our last stop is Azerbaijan. For guests from the CIS countries, Armenia and Georgia will seem like relatives. The two nations are very close with traditions and lifestyle which cannot be said about Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan can hardly be called a popular destination for family holidays.
If you are planning to visit Azerbaijan with children, you definitely need to stay in Baku, in a good hotel for maximum safety and comfort. In five-star hotels, there are children’s recreation rooms and swimming pools for entertainment. Outside the hotel, children will like to visit cafes and stroll through the shopping centers.
In Baku, the shores of the Caspian Sea are not quite suitable for a beach holiday, so you may visit other resort towns for clear shores. Modern hotels are quite suitable for family holidays. The hotels have water parks, playgrounds, clubs for adults and much more.
In recent years, Azerbaijan has begun to develop ski tourism and the popular resorts are now Tufandag and Shahdag. The country is rich, and huge funds are spent on the development of tourism. Ski resorts have all the amenities for recreation like ideal slopes for skiing, schools and instructors, lifts and hotels.
