With Mother’s Day in the rearview mirror, we figured we were in the clear, right? Mom loved her gift and we wouldn’t have to worry about Mother’s Day for another year. But then someone mentioned Father’s Day and the panic returned. Well, don’t worry because, once again, I have your back. I’ve compiled a pretty sweet list of items to fuel your gift-giving inspiration and to help Dad enjoy the things he loves most.
For the Prepared and Carry-On Only Traveling Dad
Dads (and moms!) prefer to travel with their multi-tools. They come in handy and you never know when you may need a screwdriver while traveling. I always traveled with a Leatherman, my preferred multi-tool, until it was stolen out of my checked bag (I’m looking at you, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport personnel). I’ve traveled without one since then because many multi-tools are not carry-on compliant and I’m reluctant to pack such an expensive item in my checked baggage again. Now I know we don’t have to; a TSA-compliant multi-tool exists! The Leatherman Tread LT is a stainless steel, wearable multi-tool. Wearable as in a link bracelet but with 29 different tools. Each of the links is a different tool and since it is blade-free, it’s perfectly acceptable to carry it (wear it, actually) aboard an airplane.
For the Craft-Beer-Loving Traveling Dad
I included this product in my Mother’s Day Gift Guide and I’m so in love with it, I had to include it for Father’s Day, too. I’m talking about GrowlerWerks’ uKeg, a pressurized beer growler that keeps draft beer fresh, cold, and carbonated for up to two weeks. It is ideal for road trips and stops at local breweries on your route. In honor of Father’s Day, GrowlerWerks is offering the uKeg Dad Gift Package that includes one uKeg 128 stainless steel pressurized growler for fresh beer, a uKeg 128 bar mat, and a custom “Beer Dad” tap handle. You can try your luck and enter to win a uKeg Dad Gift Package by joining GrowlerWerks’ memory-sharing campaign. Share stories about your dad on Instagram or Facebook, using #uKegDad, to enter to win the uKeg Dad Gift Package.
For the Traveling Dad with Refined Taste
If Dad prefers wine over beer and likes to “travel around the world” even while at home, a Cellars Wine Club membership is the perfect gift for him! Cellars is a small, family-owned business in Woodinville, Washington, that’s been in operation since 1999. Today, Cellars’ wine selections span every palate and price point. Club membership can be a one-time shipment or ongoing for as long as Dad would like. Furthermore, every club delivery includes free shipping and a guarantee that any broken or corked bottles will be replaced. Cellars offers two club picks that are perfect for wine-drinking, wanderlusting dads:
- The International Club focuses exclusively on imports, allowing Dad to explore new international regions monthly. It’s an ideal way to journey across the globe, two bottles at a time!
- The West Coast Club for dads who want to experience a taste of the Best Coast, from California’s Napa Valley up to Washington’s Red Mountain.
I’m more of a beer- and bourbon-drinking mama, though I do enjoy wine every now and then. But what I love even more than the wines from Cellars Wine Club is its Give Back Program. Cellars allows patrons to pick one of its non-profit partners, all of which have been completely vetted by Cellars, and support them with 15% of their purchase, at no extra charge. Let Dad drink good wine and feel good about your purchase at the same time. Everyone wins in this situation.
For the All-Natural Traveling Dad
This dad strives to look good, smell good, and feel good about the self-care products he uses. That means he prefers his personal care products to be chemical-free and cruelty-free. Young Living Essential Oils has this dad covered (almost literally) with its Shutran line of men’s care products. The Shutran essential oil blend is specially formulated for men to boost feelings of masculinity and confidence. Some of the ingredients that make up the blend include Idaho Blue Spruce, ylang-ylang, coriander, lavender, and cedarwood. The Shutran blend is also used in a 3-in-1 wash, aftershave lotion, bar soap, and shave cream for men – all of which are vegan and plant-based. If the all-natural dad in your life is also a bearded dad, he will love the Shutran beard oil. It is specially crafted to soften, condition, and add a healthy-looking sheen to facial hair while moisturizing the skin underneath.
For the Safety-Conscious Traveling Dad
All good travelers know to take safety precautions no matter where we travel. Keeping ourselves and our family members safe is priority number one, followed by securing passports and other important items. Additionally, travel is way more enjoyable and not as stressful when we know our possessions are safe. I’ve recently come across an item that can provide travelers with such peace of mind: a super secure anti-theft backpack from Traveling Smiles. The innovative backpack has a hidden, secure zipper next to your back that can’t be undone from behind by potential thieves. The interior contains several organized compartments for a laptop, tablet, cell phone, wallet, etc. The backpack also features a USB charging port to use on the go and comes in purple, black, or gray. So far, I’ve used my anti-backpack for the gym and plan to make it my main bag for my upcoming Italy trip.
And now, the fun part: Traveling Smiles and I are happy to give away an anti-theft backpack to one lucky winner! To enter to win, just leave a comment below sharing one of your favorite travel memories. That’s it! One winner will be chosen at random from all comments/entries received. Entry period ends Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 11:59 pm CDT.
The giveaway has ended. However, you can still order your own anti-theft backpack from Traveling Smiles. Be sure to use the code TWMT at checkout for free shipping!
For the purposes of this gift guide and the giveaway, I received a complimentary uKeg; International Club Box from Cellars Wine Club; and an anti-theft backpack from Traveling Smiles. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are 100% my own.
