There are many different ways to experience the U.S. as a traveler. You can get lost in the vast and noisy metropolitan areas or get lost in the vast wilderness of the country’s magnificent national parks. Whatever kind of traveling experience you choose, you should aim to visit the most breathtaking and iconic American destinations. Luckily for you, we’ve compiled a list of a few such places. These locations are absolute must-see destinations for any traveler who wants an iconic and life-changing American trip.
Red Rock Cayon, Nevada
If you want to see a breathtaking and iconic American destination, head to Red Rock Canyon in Nevada. First, you should fly into Las Vegas. Exploring the casinos and theaters of this world-famous entertainment mecca is an iconic experience in itself. You might even want to check out Vladimir Putin’s flagship aircraft if you want inspiration for potential transportation options. Chartering a private plane could be the best way to visit the city in style. Of course, once you’ve had your fill of the excitement that Vegas has to offer, you can head out into the wild to experience the natural beauty of Red Rock Canyon. The splendor of these red rock formations will leave you utterly breathless. You’ll most likely see some fantastic wildlife in the area, too. This is one of the best adventures you can have in the state of Nevada.
Whilst it may not be one of the first destinations that comes to mind when you think of stunning and iconic American cities, Franklin is a very special place indeed. It played an integral role in the Civil War – the Battle of Franklin was more brutal than even the Battle of Gettysburg, with a Confederate charge that lasted far longer. So, Franklin is home to a fascinating piece of American history. But exploring Franklin promises more than a trip down history lane – it’s also a beautiful city. Whilst the three Civil War sites (Carnton, Carter House, and Lotz House) were the locations of brutal battles, these places are breathtaking to visit both in terms of the architecture and the natural beauty that surrounds the buildings.
Hollywood Hills, California
You might associate Hollywood with international movie franchises and some of the most famous celebrities in the world, but there’s more to this neighborhood in Los Angeles than you’d imagine. The iconic Hollywood Hills are definitely worth a visit. You’ll have the opportunity to hike up the beautiful hillside of one of the most famous locations in the world. There’s nothing like seeing the stunning L.A. skyline from such great heights. You could also take the opportunity to visit the famous Griffith Observatory whilst you’re up there. It’s not only an architectural masterpiece – it’s home to the famous Tesla coil, which is an exhibit that’s fascinating to see in person. It also has a fantastic solar telescope that visitors can use. Admission is free, so it’s well worth your time.
