During our spring trip to Overland Park, Kansas, the kids and I visited Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. What I figured would be, maybe, a 2-hour visit turned into a 5-hour adventure. If it wasn’t for an unfortunate splinter (in Lucia’s finger), we easily could have spent another couple of hours exploring the gardens. The time we did spend there was thoroughly enjoyable and memorable. An added bonus was the perfect weather: cloudless blue sky, bright sunshine, and cooler temps.
In my previous article about Overland Park, I mentioned the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens as one attraction that absolutely surprised the kids and me. Hopefully after viewing the following photos, you’ll see why.
Monet Garden
Erickson Water Garden
Train Garden
Legacy Garden / Ailie’s Glade
Children’s Discovery Garden
There is still way more to see and do at Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, but these spots were our favorites. Be sure to stop if you’re in the area and, by all means, bring the kids. Hopefully the whole family will be as surprised and have as much fun as we did.
pin for later!
My family and I were guests of Visit Overland Park. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own.
Love that children’s discovery park. <3
I loved it, too. The kids played and I got to sit and enjoy the sunshine 🙂
This looks absolutely gorgeous!
It’s really fun to tour different botanical gardens. Always makes us want to go home and revisit our own landscaping, or lack there of!
