Stylish and no-slip travel shoes from Rhea Footwear

As a busy mom with two little ones, I sometimes “forget” to do things I need to do for myself. It wasn’t until the beginning of winter (read: Chicago’s first snowfall) that I realized I needed a new pair of black fashion boots! The trusty pair I’ve had (for way too long) just weren’t cutting it anymore. The toes are scuffed and the chunky wooden heels are so 1990s. I needed a new pair of black leather boots that could handle Chicago winters, and that are sensible and fashionable. Seems like an easy enough task, right? Not so much.

Rhea Footwear

Enter Rhea Footwear. Named for the goddess of comfort and ease, Rhea Footwear products are “designed with your sole in mind.” Rhea Footwear’s founders’ goal was to combine fashion and functionality, sensibility and safety. They’ve achieved that goal with their signature, anti-slip tread found on all pairs of Rhea shoes. With NeverSlip™ technology, the soles of the shoes are made from an exclusive rubber compound that grips on most slippery surface conditions – even ice and snow. As you are probably well aware, winters in Chicago can be quite icy and snowy, so Rhea’s promise of “maximum grip on all surfaces” sold me. And then I saw the Daphne Black Bootie… so sharp! Ankle height, sturdy heel, fashionable pointed toes – yep, I needed those boots.

I have worn them several times throughout this Chicago winter, as well as on my travels to other wintry cities like Denver and Detroit. I am happy to report that I slipped and/or fell ZERO times with the Daphne boots. I love the boots’ versatility; I’ve worn them with both skinny and boot-cut jeans, as well as dress slacks, and they truly are quite comfortable. I was able to wear the Daphne boots for extended periods and they didn’t slow me down when I had to run after my squirrely 3-year-old. Moreover, the boots definitely run true to size. Actually, my feet have gotten somewhat wider since giving birth to the aforementioned 3-year-old. Shoes I had before he was born now squeeze my toes and it becomes painful after a while. Not so with the Daphne boots; I have plenty of room in the toes and the entire boot.

These boots sound like a wise investment for travel, especially during winter travel. I, personally, look for shoes with no heel. Do they have anything in a flat?

These sound really comfy. I’m more of a trainer person than a boots person but maybe some flat ones would be good for me

These boots look so cute! It’s hard to find shoes that look good and are comfortable. I’m glad you haven’t slipped or fallen! lol! And I think it’s great that you can wear them with different styles of pants too.
